On August 29, 2025, an official meeting was held at the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Moscow between representatives of the "Volunteers of Peace" platform and H.E. Genet Teshome Jirru, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the Russian Federation.

The Russian side participating in the discussion included: Dmitry Kuznetsov, a Deputy of the Russian State Duma, member of the International Affairs Committee, and curator of the "Volunteers of Peace" project; Nikolay Tolpinsky, Head of the "Volunteers of Peace" platform; Alexander Semchenko, Pastor of the Church "Na Shelepikhe" and initiator of the "Volunteers of Peace" project; as well as "Volunteers of Peace" project managers Ekaterina Kolesinskaya and Varvara Natsvlishvili.

The meeting discussed the strategic potential for expanding humanitarian interaction between Russia, Ethiopia, and other partner countries based on shared traditional spiritual and moral values. The mission of the "Volunteers of Peace" platform was emphasized – to perform good deeds worldwide through broad partnership and the volunteersofpeace.org platform, which coordinates international volunteer projects.

Key outcomes of the meeting:

  1. The Embassy will consider official requests submitted by "Volunteers of Peace," including inquiries on legal and organizational matters.
  2. Platform representatives will formalize a calendar of all activities in Ethiopia for 2026. The Embassy will provide a list of relevant authorities for cooperation (education, children's projects, medical licensing, etc.). Additionally, a letter requesting support for humanitarian projects in Ethiopia will be prepared.
  3. An appeal to the First Lady of Ethiopia (Ms. Zinash Tayachew) and the Prime Minister (Abiy Ahmed Ali) requesting a meeting has been planned – the letter will be delivered through the Embassy.
  4. The Ambassador of Ethiopia specifically highlighted the country's significant need for "intellectual" volunteering: teaching modern technologies such as IT, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and related fields.
  5. Regarding the publication of the Ethiopian Prime Minister's books in Russian (a trilogy of speeches), an official request from the publishing house is being prepared.

The "Volunteers of Peace" platform thanks the Embassy of Ethiopia for its openness to dialogue and support of humanitarian initiatives. We are confident that the joint work will strengthen the ties between our peoples and help implement new important projects for the future of Ethiopia.
