RUSSIAN DOCTORS WILL GO TO ZAMBIA ON A HUMANITARIAN MISSION

TASS hosted a press conference on the international program “Mission of Good”, within the framework of which Russian specialists in nursing and newborn care will visit Zambia and train local doctors. To implement the mission, 4-5 doctors in the field of gynecology, obstetrics and rehabilitation specialists will be required. The conference participants encouraged specialists to undergo a competitive selection process by filling out an application on the mission’s website. The program is supported by the World Christian Association of Parliamentarians.
According to the head of the medical mission of the association of parliamentarians Volunteers of Peace, Ekaterina Glock, many local doctors are educated in France, but do not know basic things in the field of medicine. This leads, among other things, to a high mortality rate among newborns.

Member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Dmitry Kuznetsov shared his experience of working with refugees in African countries: “We worked in Uganda, the DRC and we can say that such countries have huge problems with healthcare. Therefore, we invite specialists in their field who would like to pass on their skills to others.”
The executive director of the Association of Volunteer Centers, Kirill Antonov, indicated that currently 51 projects of the association are aimed at interaction with Zambia, including the “Mission of Good”, which has been implemented since 2021.

“This is the mission of professionals, which is aimed at helping the population, they satisfy the demand for professionals and pass on the experience accumulated in Russia. The program in Zambia is aimed at helping women who need the help of obstetricians,” Antonov noted and invited specialists to “help physically and mentally.”
