THE WORLD CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF PARLIAMENTARIANS WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO REFUGEE CHILDREN IN UGANDA

Members of the World Christian Association of Parliamentarians (WCHAP) will help refugee children in Uganda, association member and State Duma deputy Dmitry Kuznetsov told the African Initiative.

He visited a government refugee center in Uganda.

“The products have been imported, but the most important thing here is for the children: to treat, teach, communicate. There are schools and hospitals, but they need volunteer teachers and doctors. We stopped at the hospital, where in a few days, I hope, a team of Russian doctors from our medical mission of the BRICS Humanitarian Commission and the International Humanitarian Headquarters of Zakhar Prilepin will work,” Kuznetsov said.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as of March 2024, Uganda is home to approximately 1.6 million refugees, most of them from South Sudan and DR Congo.
