MINISTRY OF HEALTH RECEIVES RUSSIAN NEOTANOLOGISTS SPECIALISTS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF MOTHERS AND NEWBORNS

Representatives of the Ministry of Health met with a delegation of neonatologist professors from the Russian Federation on Wednesday.
They were received by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Henry G. Mwebesa, at the ministry's headquarters in Kampala.
The purpose of their visit was to explore opportunities for mutual global cooperation in the field of maternal and newborn health.
During their three-day visit, a group of Russian experts held talks with Ugandan health officials to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of neonatology and maternal health. Discussions focused on identifying areas of collaboration and implementing strategies to improve maternal and newborn health services in Uganda.
During the visit, the Russian delegation will hold lectures on current clinical issues of neonatology and maternal health at the Mulago Specialized Women's and Neonatal Hospital.
These lectures provide valuable information and practical guidance to healthcare professionals, helping to improve clinical practice and patient care in Uganda.
Dr Mwebesa expressed his appreciation to the Russian delegation for its valuable contributions and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in advancing maternal and newborn health initiatives. He reaffirmed Uganda's commitment to developing global health partnerships and promoting health innovation.
